How it works: First Focal Plane scopes place the reticle in front of the zoom element, for it to get magnified with the sight picture. The reticle therefore stays the same size relative to the target, whatever the zoom setting. The main benefit is that the bullet drop subtensions stay accurate at all magnifications, making them much easier to use under time pressure.
