GLOCK Gen 3 trigger bar. Very popular upgrade to Gen 4 pistols.
The smooth faced Gen 3 trigger bar (357) is one of the most popular upgrades to early Gen 4 pistols among owners who want to improve trigger smoothness while still using proven Glock OEM parts.
Compact and Sub-Compact framed pistols have grooved trigger faces, as opposed to the smooth faced triggers on the Full and Competition size pistols.
Either trigger bar fits in all 9mm / .40 S&W pistols, the only difference is the trigger face, so it comes down to shooter preference.
.45 ACP pistols use the Gen 4 trigger bars.
Frame size specific:
How it works. (Fitting a Gen 3 trigger bar to a Gen 4 frame)
The firing pin safety (9) is situated in the slide, and obstructs the firing pin channel, in order to prevent the firing pin (5) from moving forwards and hitting the primer. As the trigger is pulled, the trigger bar (26) slides underneath the firing pin safety, pushing it up and opening up the firing pin channel for the firing pin to move freely. The area where the early Gen 4 trigger bar contacts the firing pin safety is shaped differently than on the Gen 3 trigger bar, causing a bit more friction. The trigger bar is completely interchangeable between Generations 3 and 4, and fitting a Gen 3 trigger bar to a Gen 4 pistol improves the trigger pull like that of a Gen 3.
