Apex Action Enhancement Kit (Shadow 2)

The Apex Action Enhancement Kit for the CZ Shadow 2 pistol is designed to reduce the large difference in trigger pull weight that exists between the double-action first shot and the subsequent single-action shots to approximately 2 pounds.

The hammer and sear have matching Apex engineered single-action engagement surfaces that yield a clean, consistent single-action style trigger break while providing a smooth stack-free double-action.

• Approximately 6 lb. DA with 4 lb. SA using the Carry Hammer Spring.
• Approximately 5 lb. DA with 3.5 SA using the Competition Hammer Spring.

The matched sear and hammer engagement surfaces eliminate the need for any polishing or stoning,  making the Apex hammer one of this one of the easiest-to-install Shadow competition hammers.

Please Note: Apex does NOT recommend using an extended firing pin. Only use the factory firing pin.

How it works.

The hooks that engages on the sear are finer on the performance hammer than on the standard Shadow hammer. The sear therefor needs less travel before the hammer slips, making for a much cleaner break. The sear surfaces are also adjusted to maintain safety.

The hammer spring pushes the hammer forward and are responsible for most of the weight of the trigger. Reducing the strength of these make the trigger substantially lighter, but it also results in a softer hammer hit on the firing pin. To compensate for this, a softer firing pin spring (which pushes the firing pin away from the primer) is also supplied. Two different weight hammer springs are also supplied to allow the user to find the optimum balance between weight and reliability.
